Formed by refugees from The Allman Bros., Gov't Mule added a blues/psychedelic twist to the Southern rock sound and became a highly rated live band in their own right.

All of their releases have been well received, but the number of live albums in their back catalogue is a good indication that their natural home is on stage, in front of an audience.

Of their live albums The Deepest End Live in Concert is considered to best capture the band on top form.
