First off I want to say that I'm with Jason here, to the miserable twats who say "its plagarism! They're just copying Zeppelin", I have to say no schitt, really? What was you're first clue, the fact that all the songs are Led Zeppelin songs? Maybe the fact that the album is called 'Great Zeppelin - A Tribute To Led Zeppelin' tipped you off? You mugs! You see, I'm not one of these fans who say "Zeppelin are rock gods, nobody should have the right to touch their songs!". Perhaps figuratively speaking Led Zeppelin are rock Gods to many people, in reality they are not Gods, just extremely talented humans, and as for nobody having the right to attempt to play their songs? F*ck off! This is rock n' roll, who do you people think you are, the frigging pope? Spare us the sanctimonious buffoonery, I'd encourage any band to give Led Zeppelin songs a go!

This seems like a damn good tribute to the "Rock Gods". They seem to have done a good job, and fair play to them. I'd love to see this live!

I'm a sucker for "tribute" and "cover" albums, but if you think that's what you're getting with "Great Zeppelin" you'll be sorely disappointed. There are no new twists, no Great White flavor or interpretation to put a fresh spin on the Led Zeppelin classics. What Great White has done here is try to perfectly reproduce the original Zeppelin songs; and though they've done a commendable job, the listener can't help but think "what's the point?"

I guess it had to happen sooner or later. From my first listen of Great White many years ago, I thought to myself "gee, that singer sounds a lot like Robert Plant." And like Led Zep, Great White has always played a blues-influenced hard rock. Unlike Led Zep, however, it seems you never get much of anything original from Great White; while they are an extremely polished and musically gifted band, both live and in the studio, they are also, for the most part, uninspired and sterile.

This album is good, make no mistake; and it's an entertaining listen the first couple of times, mostly because it's fascinating that Great White could reproduce Zeppelin music so faithfully and flawlessly. But once the novelty wears off, you'll find yourself reaching for the real thing when you want to hear a Zeppelin CD.
