Guster was formed in Boston in the early 90s by three college friends Adam Gardner (vocals, guitar), Ryan Miller (vocals, guitar) and Brian Rosenworcel (drums). They recorded and released their first album Parachute independently in 1994. The success of this album brought them into the same line of sight as The Dave Matthews Band and Phish who were also popular at that time.
A second album Goldfly was released in 1996, and, when they signed to Sire Records in 1998, the record label re-released it. In 1997 they released Lost and Gone Forever and in 2003, Keep It Together. Joe Pisapia, who had been touring with the band, officially joined the band after the release of this album.
Their most recent album was 2006's Ganging Up on the Sun. By then, their grueling touring schedule, their 'green' credentials, their melodic harmony-rich music and their evident sense of humour had won unswerving support from their fans.
