This is the pinnacle of Helix's power. The album smokes from beginning to end! Even the ballad, Dream on rocks. I think what makes this record stand apart from their earlier gems is the production values. Mike Stone really did a good job here. Brian Vollmar sounds as ferocious as ever and songs sound clearer and crisper. Highlights include title track, Wild in the streets,shot full of love, High voltage kicks, She's too tough(covered by Def Leppard later), Kiss it goodbye(your ass) and my personal fav, love hungry eyes! 1987 was a good year for me overall and this record certainly helped. Buy this if you like good, solid in your face 80's metal. Also, these guys were talented musicians who could really play. I kinda lost track of them after this and Paul Hackman's death. Get it and you'll like it!!Cheers....

Helix was one of those 80's hair metal bands that always flirted with stardom here in the US, but were never able to break out. I'm not sure why fame eluded them, they had the talent, just give Brian Vollmer's vocals a listen. Helix had a kind of cool AC/DC meets Quiet Riot sound, and "Wild in the Streets" is a good showcase of what the band had to offer. The titular song is a great ode to hot summer nights spent listening to your favorite tunes. "Never Gonna Stop the Rock" is your typical hair metal rock anthem, which by law was required on every album put out between 1983 and 1990. Of course you are going to get your power ballad in "Love Hungry Eyes" (again...it was law that every hair metal band include 1 power ballad), but it's a good song. If you are a fan of hair metal, Helix is a great band to discover. This was their 6th album, so there is plenty of "new" hair metal to unearth by these guys, and Helix, and other "forgotten" 80's metal bands are a nice alternative to the current music scene.
