Iced Earth is an American heavy metal band formed in 1984. Many band members have come and gone throughout the lifetime of Iced Earth, but the current the current members are founder member Jon Schaffer with Tim "Ripper" Owens, Troy Seele, Dennis Hayes and Brent Smedley.

After a successful debut EP Enter the Realm they released Iced Earth in 1990. In all the band has released eight albums culminating in their most recent Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part 1) in 2007.

Their next album Framing Abomination (Something Wicked Part 2) is expected in 2008, and is the final album of a trilogy which was started by 1998's Something Wicked This Way Comes.
