Biography

Edit

Iggy Pop (born James Newell Osterberg, Jr.; April 21, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and occasional actor. Iggy Pop is considered an influential innovator of punk rock, hard rock, and other styles of rock music. As such, he is also occasionally referred to as "the Iguana". Iggy Pop is widely acknowledged as one of the most dynamic stage performers of all time.

Pop's popularity has ebbed and flowed throughout the course of his subsequent solo career. His best-known solo songs include "Lust for Life", "Nightclubbing", "I'm Bored", "Real Wild Child", the Top 40 hit "Candy" (with vocalist Kate Pierson of The B-52's), "China Girl" and "The Passenger".

Iggy & The Stooges

Aug, 7 2008

Where's Columbo when you need him? Iggy & The Stooges are in need of a sleuth, and though Peter Falk's character concentrated on homicides, there might be one of those too if some misguided thieves don't return their loot: a truck full of instruments and equipment belonging to the legendary wild men of 60s garage-rock, currently touring Canada. The lorry has since been recovered in Montreal, just a few blocks away from the hotel where it was stolen, but it's been emptied of all the important stuff inside. Iggy Pop and his band have since moved on to Toronto and will venture on to complete their tour with borrowed gear, while police in Montreal have asked second-hand instrument and pawn store owners to be vigilant.
