Bonham Jr. Plans Led Zep Tribute
May, 4 2010
Led Zeppelin announced their split in December 1980 shortly after the death of drummer John Bonham, and despite mega-money offers to reunite with a new drummer, singer Robert Plant has always been reluctant, partly because of his feeling that John Bonham is impossible to replace.
But guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones, and Bonham's drummer son Jason have expressed interest in touring Led Zep's music again, and Jason Bonham has finally confirmed his intention to do just that.
"Thirty shows in memory of my father," Jason told Blabbermouth, "as it's thirty years since he left this world." The shows will feature "old photos, home movies and videos," with Led Zep's music tying everything together into "a journey into my life." Whether Page and Jones will be involved, or other musicians not affiliated to Zep, has yet to be revealed.
