Overview Edit

This Is Me... Then is the third full-length English studio album (fourth overall) by American singer Jennifer Lopez, released in November 2002 by Epic Records. The album debuted at number six on the U.S. Billboard 200 selling 314,000 copies during its first week remaining in the top twenty for twelve weeks and on the chart for thirty-seven weeks. It has sold 2.5 million copies in the United States and over six million copies worldwide.

The album spawned four singles: the old school hip hop-influenced "Jenny from the Block" (featuring Styles P and Jadakiss), the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper "All I Have" (featuring LL Cool J), and the soul-tinged tracks "I'm Glad" and "Baby I Love U!". Lopez's cover version of Carly Simon's 1978 song "You Belong to Me" was released in Brazil, where it appeared on the soundtrack to the telenovela Mulheres Apaixonadas, whereas "The One" was released to radio stations in Europe—charting at number forty-one on the Romanian Top 100 in mid-May 2003—and Brazil.

The track "Dear Ben" was in reference to her then-fiance, actor Ben Affleck.

5 stars A modern-day urban romance story? Yes actually...
Let me start by saying that I was an average Jennifer Lopez fan about two months ago. I've always had an interest in her singles, even when they went too hip-hop (though I think my young age prevented me from appreciating those singles).

Maybe it is the relationship (my first serious one ever) I'm in , watching the MTV2 & MTV Hits Jennifer Lopez marathon of videos & interviews that led up to the release of her newest outing "Rebirth" & basically revisiting Jennifer's music that caused me to go …

1 stars Still Undefined
With this CD, it becomes even more apparent that Jennifer Lopez is not only a victim of the corporate machine, but a victim of her own creation. Given the number of producers on each track, you'd think it'd be possible to come up with one song that isn't simplistic and bad. Well, that premise would be wrong.

She is still unsure of what direction to take musically and that makes her come across as some sort of artistic mish-mosh as she tries a bit of this and a bit of that. Add to this the fact s…
