Jim Brickman studied as a classical pianist but soon abandoned his training to embark on a career as a contemporary New Age composer. His non-classical career started inauspiciously when Jim Henson engaged him to write tunes for Sesame Street. He also wrote jingles for commercials during this time.
His first solo album, No Words, was released in 1994 and found success when the instrumental single “Rocket to the Moon” hit the Billboard charts. Since then he has released 16 albums, including music for children and two Christmas themed offerings. Several of his love song compositions have found him collaborating with other artists, including Martina McBride (on “Valentine”).
