Biography

Edit

Although in his more than 40 year career Jimmy Buffett has released more than 30 studio albums, he is best known for his 1977 hit single "Margaritaville". Famous for his loyal fanbase, who happily refer to themselves as "Parrotheads", and his laid-back Caribbean flavoured music, Buffett is also a successful businessman and author. In 2006 Rolling Stone magazine listed Buffett as the 7th richest rock star in history with estimated earnings in excess of $50 million a year. Most recently he released Take the Weather with You (2006), which reached No.1 on the Country chart and No.4 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Jimmy Buffett

Jun, 23 2008

Margaritaville, halcyon figment of Jimmy Buffet’s musical mind, is about to become reality. The multi-millionaire’s next plan for his expanding empire is to create Margaritaville: The Hotel. The casino-hotel will be in Atlantic City where it will contribute to his impressive portfolio of good-time products which includes beer, frozen food, restaurants and, of course, Margaritaville tequila. Lest you forget his humble origins as a musician, Parrotheads will be relieved to hear that he intends to embark on his 31st tour shortly.
