Biography

Edit

Reggae singer Jimmy Cliff is best known for compiling and appearing on the 1972 soundtrack album The Harder They Come, which is often said to be one of the best reggae albums ever. Including well-known songs such as the title track, "You Can Get It If You Really Want", "Many Rivers To Cross" and The Maytals' "Pressure Drop", The Harder They Come helped to popularise reggae outside of Jamaica. Cliff also starred in the film, though it was overshadowed somewhat by the success of the soundtrack.

Jimmy Cliff also enjoyed hits with songs like "Hurricane Hattie", "King of Kings", "Wonderful World, Beautiful People" and "Vietnam".
