definitely not bluesMy first exposure to Jimmy smith was very late - dot com Blues. As a blues musician, I love this album. I bought a few others of his (Sermon and one other whose name escapes me) - Both good, but tending away from blues and towards a style of jazz I don't particularly appreciate. I had mistakenly assumed that "Cool Blues" would be - well - Blues! But it is strictly jazz without a single 12-bar blues number on the album. So I was dissappointed. Just not my cup'o'tea.
