After several years in the spotlight, it's easy to forget that Joanna Levesque (aka JoJo) is still only 18 years old. Her first single came out when she was just 13, and in the intervening years she has branched out into acting.
Her natural talent for performing emerged when she was invited on to The Oprah Winfrey Show and America's Most Talented Kids. At 11 she signed a record deal and recorded a demo of covers of soul classics. In 2004, while still only 13 years old, JoJo's debut single "Leave (Get Out)" was a Top 10 hit across the world, and topped the Billboard Mainstream chart. Her first album followed a few months later: JoJo hit No.4 in the Billboard albums chart and has gone on to sell over three million copies worldwide.
Second album The High Road (2006) reached No.3 in the Billboard album chart and is thought to have sold around two million copies worldwide. The first single, "Too Little Too Late", reached No.3 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming JoJo's most successful single yet.
JoJo has also commenced an acting career. She appeared in two TV shows -- The Bernie Mac Show and American Dreams -- before moving to the big screen with roles in Aquamarine and RV (both 2006).
