At age 19, Jordin Sparks has accomplished in a couple of years what takes many artists a lifetime to achieve. Since winning American Idol, she has been embraced by not only the music industry, but sports and fashion as well.
Before she was Idol, Sparks divided her time between school and participating in various talent competitions like Sprite Rising Star, Gospel Music Association GMA Academy, NBC/PAX America's Most Talented Kids and Colgate Country Showdown. Jordin forayed into modeling with a stint as a Torrid model even having a full-page ad for Torrid in the December 2006 issue of Seventeen magazine.
After winning season six of Idol and touring, Sparks released her first single, "Tattoo", which became a hit at pop radio. That was followed by her self-titled album filled with pop, R&B and dance music. The album yielded the international hits, the Grammy-nominated "No Air" with R&B superstar Chris Brown, and "One Step at a Time". Sparks became the first Idol to have their debut yield four Top 20 hits (including "This is My Now") as well as the most downloaded single with "No Air".
Sparks has participated in various high profile events like The Kennedy Center Honors, NBA All-Star Weekend and Super Bowl XLII. She launched her own fashion line through Wet Seal in November 2008.
