Josh Groban

Josh Groban is best known for Noël, his recent Christmas album that became the best-selling album in 2007 in America despite being a seasonally-themed record that wasn't released until ten months into the year.

His interest in singing developed at a young age, and he started to take part in musical theatre while still at school. After working for David Foster during a series of high profile events including the 1999 Grammy Awards (where he famously stood in for Andrea Bocelli), he was offered a recording contract with Warner Brothers.

After playing Malcolm Wyatt in the television series Ally McBeal he released his first album Josh Groban in 2001. It went platinum over the course of the following year. He continued to duet with notable peers including Celine Dion and Charlotte Church, and sang at prestigious events including a Christmas performance at the Vatican, and The Winter Olympics of 2002.

His second album was 2003's Closer which performed well in the charts, reaching No.1; his brand of classical-inspired pop was finding fans across the record-buying world.

Awake was released in 2006 and featured contributions from Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Imogen Heap and Herbie Hancock, among others.

Groban's most recent album was a Christmas offering, Noël, released in time for the holidays of 2007. Despite only being released in October, it was so successful that it became the biggest-selling album of the year.
