Julio José Iglesias de la Cueva is a Grammy Award winning Spanish singer born in 1943 who rose to fame as a debonair crooner of romantic ballads in the 1970s and 1980s. He moved to America in 1985.
After winning the Benidorm International Song Festival in 1968 he signed to Discas Columbia and released his debut album, La Vida Sigue Igual in 1969. His first non-Spanish tracks were on the album De Niña a Mujer (1981) which resulted in the No.1 hit "Begin the Beguine". His first fully English language album was 1984's 1100 Bel Air Place, featuring the hit "To All The Girls I've Loved Before" which was a duet with Willie Nelson.
Throughout his long and extremely successful career he has released a proliferation of Spanish and English language albums, concentrating more heavily on the Spanish releases during later years.
