Timberlake Fighting For Acting Success
Oct, 5 2010
Justin Timberlake says he has to "fight against" his music career if he's to make it as an actor, according to an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
The former *NSync star appears in David Fincher's Facebook movie, The Social Network, which has just hit cinemas. "I loved the part," he said, "and I wanted to do work with David so bad that I was like, 'We can read this scene butt naked if you guys want.'" But his ambitions to be taken seriously as an actor are hampered by his past as a world famous pop star. "I have to fight against my music career," he said. "But I [don't] care."
Timberlake said he would "never stop making music," but that he had no current plans to record a follow-up to 2006's FutureSex / Lovesounds. "Does a painter make a painting because he has to make it by 21 December?" he asked. "No, he doesn't. It happens when it pours out of him. That's how music is for me."
