Bloc Party singer Kele Okereke was allegedly assaulted at the weekend by members of John Lydon's entourage, after Okereke asked the former Sex Pistols frontman if he had any plans to reform his post-punk band, Public Image Ltd. According to DrownedInSound.com, Kele was accused of having a "black attitude", before Lydon's associates began kicking and punching him. Members of other bands, who witnessed the attack backstage at Barcelona's Summercase festival, jumped in to break the attackers away. Okereke later said ""It's not an issue of the physical assault, even though it was an unprovoked attack. It is the fact that race was brought into the matter so readily." Police in Spain and the UK have been informed.
