Atlanta, Georgia native Kelly Rowland is probably best known as one third of the superstar pop girl-group Destiny's Child, along with Beyoncé Knowles and Michelle Williams. With Destiny's Child she had hits including "Say My Name", "Independent Women Part I" (from the Charlie's Angles' soundtrack), "Survivor" and "Bootylicious". The group decided to go their separate ways in 2005 and Rowland embarked on her solo career. Her first solo success, however, came during a hiatus from Destiny's Child, with her 2002 solo album Simply Deep, which included the No.1 hit single "Dilemma", a duet with rapper Nelly. While the album did well in the US, selling just over half a million copies, sales surpassed 1.5 million overseas and it debuted at No.1 in the UK album charts. Rowland's second solo outing, June 2007's Ms. Kelly initially performed better in the US, debuting at No.2 in the R&B charts however after sales slumped, Rowland headed back into the studio to record a few new tracks for a reported re-release of Ms. Kelly.
