Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an American blues musician, born in Louisiana in 1977. As a boy he taught himself to play blues guitar by listening to Muddy Waters albums and at 13 he played on stage with Bryan Lee, a New Orleans bluesman.

Shepherd released his debut album Ledbetter Heights in 1995, the album went into the Billboard 200 and was No.1 on the Top Blues Albums charts. This was to be the start of his successful career, with his albums including Trouble Is and The Place You're In selling millions of copies. Shepherd's guitar playing can be heard on the credits for the film Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker. He has been recognised at the Billboard Music Awards and has been voted Best Blues Guitarist twice, in 1998 and 2001.
