Killswitch Engage

Killswitch Engage is an American metalcore band formed in 1999 by founder members Mike D'Antonio (bass), Adam Dutkiewicz (drums, then guitar), Joel Stroetzel (guitar) and Jesse Leach (vocals). They signed to Ferret Records after a successful tour with Shadows Fall and released their debut album Killswitch Engage in 2000.

Their debut was sufficiently successful to lead to them signing with Roadrunner Records for their next album Alive or Just Breathing (2002) after which they expanded to a five piece, two guitar band with the addition of Tom Gomes. Additional line-up changes happened when Leach left and was replaced by Howard Jones on vocals and Gomes was replaced by Justin Foley on drums.

End of Heartache was released in 2004 and it was followed in 2006 with As Daylight Dies, with the former peaking at No.21 in the Billboard charts. Ongoing tours in support of the albums have been increasingly successful and the album reviewers and fans alike continue to love their mixture of melody and ferocity.
