Kittie is a Canadian female alt-metal band formed in 1996. The current line-up is Morgan Lander, Mercedes Lander, Tara McLeod and Ivy Vujic.
Founder members, sisters Mercedes and Morgan Lander, were only 15 and 17 when their debut album Spit was released in 1999. It reached No.79 in the Billboard charts and achieved gold certification. The single "Brackish" was a hit that year.
Oracle was released in 2001 after Fallon Bowman (guitar) left the band. Until the End came out in 2004 after several-line up changes, including Talena Atfield (bass guitarist) leaving the band.
Their fourth album was 2007's Funeral for Yesterday and marks a move from Morgan's trademark screamo to a slicker, more melodic sound. Trish Doan, Funeral for Yesterday's bass guitarist, left in 2008 due to anorexia.
Their most recent album, In the Back was released on september 15, 2009. It includes melodic singing as well as screaming. Video's were shot for "Cut Throat", "Sorrow I Know", and most recently, "Die My Darling."
