Overview Edit

The fourth album by English rock band Led Zeppelin was released on 8 November 1971. No title is printed on the album, so it is generally referred to as Led Zeppelin IV, following the naming standard used by the band's first three studio albums. Also the album has alternatively been referred to as the Four Symbols logo, Four Symbols and The Fourth Album (both titles were used in the Atlantic Records catalogue), Untitled, Runes, Sticks, ZoSo, The Hermit, and simply, IV. Zoso is also the moniker for the band's guitarist, Jimmy Page.

Upon its release, Led Zeppelin IV was a commercial and critical success. The album is one of the best-selling albums in history at 37 million units. It has shipped over 23 million units in the United States alone, putting it third on the all-time list. In 2003, the album was ranked 66th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

5 stars Mott Four
Within eighteen months three members of this band had gone from total obscurity to part of the best known rock band in the world. By the end of 1971 world domination was such that they could release their fourth album without any sleeve notes, no band image or song titles on the sleeve either. Therefore it has since been called by fans a variety of names from the obvious 'Led Zeppelin IV' to the less obvious 'Runes' after its many Lord of the Rings references to 'Four Symbols'. Or 'Zosa' after i…

2 stars MP3 Album NOT The Remastered Version!
Beware that the MP3 album for sale here is NOT the remastered version, even though it's linked to the remastered CD version on the amazon site. I discovered this after purchasing and listening to it. The audio is muddy and full of dropouts, and basically sounds like an old audio cassette. This is why it's only $8.
