Overview Edit

Presence is the seventh studio album by English rock band Led Zeppelin, released by Swan Song Records on March 31, 1976. The album was written and recorded during a tumultuous time in the band's history, as Robert Plant was recuperating from serious injuries he had sustained in a recent car accident. The album received mixed reviews from critics, and it is one of the lowest sellers in the band's catalogue.

4 stars Jimmy Pages crowning achievement
When Robert Plant and his family sustained serious injuries in a car accident on the Greek island of Rhoads in August 1975, the future of Led Zeppelin was immediately thrown into question. Unable to tour, and unable to live with their families, the band decided to record a new album, "Presence". Recorded and mixed in just 18 days in Munich, West Germany, the results are …

3 stars Led Zeppelin: Against the Ropes
Led Zeppelin are legendary. However, Presence is sub-par for a band of so much talent. Achilles Last Stand is GREAT. The rest of the album lacks power. Presence is the closest thing to a Led Zeppelin "Jam" album. The musicianship is great but the songs dont gel into classics. Had Led Zeppelin taken another eighteen days to record, Presence might have been a different story.
