Mexican American rapper Lil Rob was born in California in 1975. Being shot at the age of 18 was a formative event in Lil Rob's life, causing him to turn away from the gangster lifestyle and promote unity between gangs. This is reflected in the title of his debut album, Brown Pride Riders 2, released 1996. Subsequent releases received positive critical reviews, his most popular album being the Twelve Eighteen Pt. 1 album, released in 2005. The album produced the single "Summer Nights" which went into the top 40 of the Hot 100. He is currently working on Twelve Eighteen Pt. 2, due for release in late 2007.
