Meteora is the second studio album by American rock band Linkin Park, released on March 25, 2003. Following the collaboration album Reanimation which featured remixes of their debut album Hybrid Theory. Linkin Park released singles from Meteora for over a year, including "Somewhere I Belong", "Faint", "Lying from You", "From the Inside", "Breaking the Habit" and "Numb".

It is the most successful album in the history of the Modern Rock Tracks chart, a chart that specializes in radio play of alternative rock songs. "Numb" was the biggest song of the year on the chart. The album has sold over 15 million worldwide to date, making it one of the best-selling albums worldwide. It was ranked #36 on Billboard's Hot 200 Albums of the Decade.

Sure, they may not have the most complex guitar out there and their songs are very structurally similar, but really, Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" was one of the catchiest, most energetic, and innovative cds to come out in quite a while. I loved their first release, loved the remix album just as much, and have been salivating over this new album. So, does it live up to their past two records? Lets go track by track-

Okay, let me start by saying I listen to a lot (and I do mean a lot) of music, and this includes actual metal (as well as pretty much any other genre you can think of). I know people call this "rap-metal"; well, I hate that label and think it's a terrible way to classify anything. The word "metal" should not be anywhere in the classification of this CD; it's simply not metal, nor does it have any metal influences, period.
