Biography

Edit

A lifelong interest in music meant that a career in the business was almost inevitable for Lisa Hannigan. Her art was honed when a chance meeting with Damien Rice led to a fruitful period of myriad collaborations and touring. By the time her artistic association with Rice ended, Hannigan was finally in a position to express her own voice, and debut album Sea Sew was the result. The album was enthusiastically received and the praise it earned resulted in a nomination for the Mercury Music prize of 2009.
