Old, new, borrowed, not blue. The best way to describe this album. The band borrowed from old three cord rock and gives it a new sound. They are loud and bodacious. But they have the right rythem and beat. On many songs they bring back flashes of Seventies and Eighties bands, like The Producers or Elvis Costello. Their music drives with an energy that sends your mind reeling. Even on a slow song like Happy in the Meantime, there is an energy that radiates like an atomic bomb. On tunes like Sunny Weather, you will hear a sound like the Beach Boys on Steroids. Slip, into a sweet and tender ballad and be carried on a tidal wave of desire to hear more from Lit. Over My Head is from the Titan AE soundtrack and show us what most people at the Grammys have forgotten. This is what music is all about. Atomic, aptly named. Get in into your ears and crank it up.

Now this is a review of the BONUS DISC, which comes with Atomic. It is called the Dirty Martini Sampler and comes with 3 audio tracks and 1 music video for your PC. The first song is from Lit, which is an upbeat acoustic version of Down. Its done with a single acoustic guitar and vocals. In fact, the singer probably did it by himself without the band. Not bad, but not rocking like the original version of Down. The second song on the Dirty Martini Sampler is a song by Handsome Devil called Makin' Money. Its an upbeat party song with heavy guitars (just like Lit). The chorus is a little stupid though... "you make me laugh... ha ha ha!" The final audio track is a demo of a song called Sore Throat from a band called the Color Red. It fits right along on this CD, with some big guitars and lyrics about heart ache. I can't really say that this song is any good. The last thing that makes this sampler good is that it has Lit's music video for the song called "Four." I was expecting a real music video, but instead it's a bunch of live footage put together to make a video. It shows all of the glamour and insanity that is on stage!
