Biography

Edit

Los Lobos is an American band whose blend of Mexican influenced rock music broke through to the charts in the shape of the track "La Bamba" their output has been well received by critics but largely overlooked by the mainstream for the remainder of their career.

The band began in the 1970s but their first major label release was not until 1984's How Will the Wolf Survive?. After a second album in 1987 and a soundtrack album for the film La Bamba, they released a traditional Mexican album, La Pistola y El Corazon in 1988 which did not sell well. Since that time they have released the experimental Kiko, a children's album, Papa's Dream and several albums which have received critical acclaim including Colossal Head (1996) and The Town and the City (2006).
