Biography

Edit

Soul singer Lou Rawls made his name in the 70s with a string of hits such as "Lady Love", "See You When I Git There" and the indomitable "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine". He didn't have to dig deep to win over audiences; his four-octave, honey-drizzled voice freed him up to concentrate on smooth-singing and lady-killing. Rawls was also known for his charity work, and is thought to have raised over $200million for the United Negro College Fund through running annual telethons from 1980 to 2006.

Lou Rawls died of cancer in 2006, he was 72.
