Biography

Edit

Minnesota indie-rock band Low are considered formative in the sub-genre known as slowcore, which relies on slow rhythms and austere atmospheres. Formed by husband and wife Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker, all eight of their albums have been critically acclaimed but largely ignored by the mainstream, earning them a cult following of dedicated fans. Their 1994 debut I Could Live In Hope is sometimes considered their best full-length release, but Things We Lost In The Fire (2001) and The Great Destroyer (2005) are also well-regarded, proving that Low's appeal is long-lasting. Their latest album was the anti-war Drums and Guns (2007).
