A Lasting LegacyTo my mind, Lynyrd Skynyrd was and is one of the great southern bands of all time, not to mention one of the great American bands of all time."All Time Greatest Hits" is proof of this band's lasting legacy, tragically ended in a 1977 plane crash that killed lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, whose awesome voice was matched only by his songwriting genius; third guitarist Steve Gaines, whose addition to the band added zest and maturity; his sister Cassie, who sang background; and original tour manager …
not really the all-time greatest...of the many, many, greatest hits albums you can find from skynyrd, this is certainly not the all-time greatest. there are a few problems with it; most blatantly, the awesome hit 'tuesdays gone' is completely omitted from the disc! in addition, this cd's version of their greatest song, 'free bird', while original, is not nearly as good as the studio recording. there are enough skynyrd compilation albums out there for you to take your pick from. try 'one more from the road'.
