4 stars COMPLETE? NOT REALLY.
Now before I get the awkward eye from alot of viewers, this isn't Lynyrd Skynyrd's entire Muscle Shoals recordings. To get that you must also get The Best of The Rest, which has 2 more MS recordings not released anywhere else. Those songs are Gotta Go and I've Been Your Fool. That then is complete. As for what's on here, this is the motherlode of Skynyrd pre-Pronounced days. Awesome renditions of Simple Man, Thing's Goin' On, One More Time, and Gimme Three Steps. All better and superior versions…

I picked this up thinking it would be an album filled with a lot of early gems from the band, maybe along the lines of those Neil Young recent releases from his coffee house days, or the recent early Seger album. Instead, it's more of what I'd describe as a curiosity. Not bad, but not quite great either. Turns out I'd heard a lot of it on my old vinyl copy of "First and Last", and in addition a few of these songs are already added to the extended CD releases of the early Skynyrd albums like "Pro…
