Martin Duffy

Martin Duffy is the keyboardist with Scottish band Primal Scream. Duffy formerly played keyboards in the indie band Felt and also played with The Charlatans following the death of founder-member Rob Collins, appearing with the group at Knebworth supporting Oasis in 1996 and contributing keyboard parts to the bands fifth album Tellin' Stories along with Collins. He has also played on recordings by Heidi Berry when she recorded for Creation Records and he played on several Airstream singles.

His unique gifts can best be found on the albums he recorded with Felt . One album, "Train Above the City", features songs solely written by Duffy playing piano and various organs with drums and vibes by Felt drummer Gary Ainge. The Felt albums "Poem of the River", "The Pictorial Jackson Review" and "Forever Breathes the Lonely Word" (whose cover consists solely of a picture of Duffy's face cropped down the middle) are a showcase for his keyboard playing on songs written by Lawrence. These albums in which he use the Hammond Organ a great deal are considered by many fans as high points in Felt's catalogue while on Creation Records.
