Ma$e is an American rapper who has aboandoned his previous bad boy image as Murda Ma$e (with Children of the Corn) to become a born again Christian and a pastor.
His early career was characterized by a chance encounter and ongoing alliance with Diddy who signed him to Bad Boy in 1996. Harlem World, his debut album, sold well, achieving multi-platinum certification. He followed this with Double Up (1999) but later that year he announced his retirement from music. He left to study theology and emerged as Dr. Mason Betha. He did return briefly to the music scene five years later to release Welcome Back (2004).
