5 stars Not a surfing musician - a skateboarding one
This album is almost the same as the earlier, independent release, with a few different songs. Somehow, it's even better. Although "Whiskey and Wine" is missed, the album has better flow and quality throughout. Costa has a diverse style that is interlaces with adolescent optimism and energy - and that's adolescent in the best of ways - when every new experience was still exciting.

3 stars These Are the Melodies with Simple Harmonies We Sing
Many were first introduced to Matt Costa when he popped up on Jack Johnson led Curious George Soundtrack. His inclusion, Lullaby was less than impressive and definitely couldn't hold up against the likes of Jack Johnson and Ben Harper. Now Costa is trying to strike out on his own with his first full length album, the appropriately titled Songs We Sing.
