The May 22 wedding was small, and took place in a backyard, but the rock-star credentials made it far from a humble affair. The blushing bride was none other than drummer, Meg White and the groom was guitarist, Jackson Smith, son of godmother of punk Patti and MC5 guitarist Fred ‘Sonic’. The backyard in question belonged to Jack White, Meg’s ex-husband and bandmate in The White Stripes, the band where she made her name. In addition, the marriage was combined with another; that of Jack Lawrence, bassist in Jack’s other music ventures, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather. But there will little time to celebrate, now that all the nuptials are done, many of the attendees have a packed schedule ahead; this year fans can look forward to a new album from the White Stripes and a tour and an album from The Dead Weather. It’s certainly all go in the world of rock!
