Overview Edit

Go West Young Man is an album released in 1990 by Contemporary Christian music singer Michael W. Smith. Michael W. Smith most notably performed "Place in This World" and "For You" on various shows, ie. The Arsenio Hall Show, to promote the album. This record was more of a mainstream "crossover" project for Smith that ended up being a platinum album. Videos were produced for both singles released and received much radio airplay. Several of the songs from this album made it on his other project The First Decade (1983-1993).

3 stars Old School Michael W Smith
Good example of Michael W. Smith's initial music. There are some catchy tunes and songs, but nothing terribly fabulous or innovative. I can tell that his music comes from the heart.

Strong early 90's feel to the music; some songs have a pseudo-hip hop feel.

Interesting to see how his music has changed over the years.
