Milli Vanilli (Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus) are the now defunct pop duo from the late 80s whose meteoric rise to superstardom was halted by scandal. They released their debut album All Or Nothing in Europe, released in a slightly different form in the US with the name Girl You Know It's True, which spawned the massive hit singles "Girl You Know It's True", "Baby Don't Forget My Number", "Girl I'm Gonna Miss You" and "Blame It On The Rain". However after winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1990, it was discovered that frontmen Morvan and Pilatus had been lip-syncing. Vocals for Milli Vanilli had actually been contributions from several vocal artists: twin sisters Jodie and Linda Rocco, Brad Howell, John Davis and Charles Shaw.
Millie Vanilli were stripped of their Grammy and their career was left in tatters. There have been several comeback attempts with Morvan and Pilatus providing their own vocals, however none have been successful. In 1998 after a stint in jail on numerous charges Pilatus committed suicide in a Frankfurt hotel room, he was 32. Morvan continues to try and resurrect his career.
