Overview Edit

Everything Is Wrong is the third album by the artist Moby, released in 1995. The album was Moby’s first acclaimed electronica album, but true mainstream success did not come about until the release of his 1999 album, Play.

Everything Is Wrong was released with a limited edition bonus disc of ambient music, Underwater.

Inside the album's booklet, Moby provides two personal essays, quotes from famous persons (from Albert Einstein to St. Francis of Assisi), and facts that he has collected (e.g. regarding animal experiments).

The album was followed up in early 1996 with a remix album entitled Everything Is Wrong - DJ Mix Album (Mixed & Remixed - XLCDSTUMM130). Mixed by Moby from the various remixes that were commissioned by Mute, the album was a two disc set. The first disc was "Hard Techno, Joyous Anthems & Quiet Ambiance", while the second was "New York Hard House, Groovy Acid & Melodic Trance".

5 stars Worth it's weight in gold!
After purchasing my first Moby album (Play), and attending a fantastic concert, I wasn't sure which of the numerous Moby albums to get! Luckily, I chose this one. This album has two tones. The first (1-7) songs have faster beats, and are more dance-oriented. The last (8-13) are slower, much more introspective tracks.

1-"Hymn"- A nice opening song, neo-classical, fairly short (3 minutes).

2-"Feeling So Real"- You can't help but move to this song! Sweet synth, catchy vocals, and a great underlying…

3 stars Is it really that good?
'Every Thing Is Wrong' was the first album of the prolific Moby that I purchased. On the first hearing, I thought it was immature, poppy techno. Subsequent hearings of the album did little to abate this inital feeling. However, all that said, taken at face value, the recording is still an enjoyable one. Try not to think too hard about the music and it will take you into a moody trance from which it is hard to break until the conclusion of the final track.

The interlinking songlets of techno-punk…
