Nancy Sinatra was signed to Reprise Records mainly because her father owned the record label. After a whopping eleven flop singles, Nancy was given "one more chance", with the understanding that she would be dropped by the label if her next record didn't sell. Having nothing to lose, she hooked up with maverick producer/songwriter Lee Hazlewood at her next recording session. Its not surprising Nancy Sinatra's first and best-known album is not her best. The songs included here were an obvious attempt to cash in on the "Boots" phenomenon. Nancy shines, the best she can, on material that made others famous. No surprises here, just cutting vocals of mediocre songs.
