Curb is the first studio album by Canadian hard rock band Nickelback. Originally self-released by the band on May 1, 1996, the album was later reissued by Roadrunner in 2002, with a different album cover. The songs "Where?", "Fly", "Left" and "Window Shopper" had previously been released on the band's first extended play Hesher, and were re-recorded for the album. "Just Four" was later re-recorded and released as "Just For" on the band's third album, Silver Side Up, in 2001. When reissued in 2002, Curb entered the American Billboard 200 albums chart at number 182. "Fly" was released as the only single from the album, in July 1996, for which the band's first promotional music video was also recorded. The album received its first ever certification 14 years after its release date, it was certified Gold in Canada as of March, 2010.

This album was the band's introduction to the big time and they did not disappoint with their tracks of Pusher, Where? and Sea Groove becoming popular listening songs on radio station and most requested songs in early 2002 when this CD was in fact released. 'Curb' is a unique beginning for Nickelback where the fan/listener first met the integral sound and rythmns of this group. Just For and I Don't Have are also good songs.Give this album a chance, like me it takes a few goes on the stereo before this album truly blends in with the listener.

Nickelback's First Album Is No Slouch, But Not Their Best
Just after Nickelback released such great albums as "The State" (1999) and "Silver Side Up" (2001), we here in the U.S. finally got a chance to own their first album from 1996, entitled "Curb". You'd think after 5 years, a band who has such a knack for writing fabulous songs would have changed their style a bit. Not in their case...."Curb" still has the same kind of catchy hard-rock grooves that you would hear on their other 2 albums. That really isn't a bad thing though, I mean, more great Nick…
That really isn't a bad thing though, I mean, more great Nickelback songs, nothing wrong with that! Some of the tunes that stood out to me were "Little Friend", "Detangler" and "Falls Back On" amongst others. Remember the song "Just For" from the "Silver Side Up" album? Well, they have an earlier version of it on here, which isn't as good as the more recent version, but it's still cool. This album, as good as it is, proves to me that Nickelback is getting better as they go. I mean, "The State" was awesome, "Silver Side Up" was even better. This album is probably their weakest effort, but they WERE just getting started after all. It's ok though, just because the album doesn't quite measure up to the 2 more recent ones, doesn't mean it's no good. I still would highly recommnend picking it up if you have the other albums. It's Nickelback doing what they do best....ROCK!
