Overview Edit

The Singles 1992–2003 is a compilation album by the American rock band No Doubt, produced by Nellee Hooper and released on November 25, 2003 on Interscope Records. It features thirteen of the band's singles from their later three studio albums — Tragic Kingdom, Return of Saturn, and Rock Steady — and the album track "Trapped in a Box" from their debut album, No Doubt. The album also included a cover of Talk Talk's song "It's My Life", which was the only new song on the album and which was released as a single. It is the band's final album to date and was released alongside the DVD Rock Steady Live, a video of a concert as part of the band's Rock Steady tour in 2002, and the box set Boom Box, which contained The Singles 1992–2003, Everything in Time, The Videos 1992-2003, and Live in the Tragic Kingdom.

No Doubt went into hiatus in April 2003 after the release of four singles from their fifth studio album, Rock Steady, allowing the four members to spend time with loved ones. This also allowed their lead singer, Gwen Stefani, to work on her solo music side project, under which she has released two albums, Love. Angel. Music. Baby. in November 2004 and The Sweet Escape in December 2006. The band regrouped in September 2003 to record the lead single for the album, "It's My Life" with producer Nellee Hooper. Additionally, in May 2010, the band regrouped again to start work on their latest record.

The album sold moderately well, being certified 2× Platinum by RIAA in the United States and CRIA in Canada, and Platinum by ARIA in Australia. It received mostly positive reviews from music critics, who praised the variety of music genres on the album.

5 stars One of the best singles collections ever made
I've never been to big on pop music; but No Doubt is like crack for me. There is so much to love about No Doubt. All of their albums are great. Each one of them stands very well on their own. "Tragic Kingdom" (their best in my opinion) and "Return To Saturn" are both fantastic Ska/Pop recordings. "Rock Steady" was definitely a huge change in which they needed at that point in their careers. If they released another Ska record with Gwen singing about the her and bassist's failed relationship agai…

3 stars Boom Box May Be A Better Buy
In reference to some previous customer reviews, I just wanted to say that the whole point of this album was to rerelease on one comprehensive CD all of No Doubt's singles that had already been released as *official* singles. If you'll notice, all of the songs on this CD have had videos made for them too. With this in mind, it would not have made sense to have "By The Way" or "Open The Gate" on this CD since they were never released as official singles. I know all this has been said before but I …
