Biography

Edit

NOFX are a US punk band known for their witty, politically aware lyrics. The band came up as part of the popular punk revival in the US in the mid-nineties, which saw other bands such as Offspring and Green Day take a punk influenced rock sound to the mainstream US charts.

The band was formed by high school friends who built up a following by playing in clubs and at house parties, gradually increasing the scope of their tours and building their reputation and fanbase. They had their breakthrough with the 1994 release, the gold-selling Punk in Drublic - a mix of punk and ska, with a sense of humour and political comment mixed in. After this mainstream success, their albums have made the top 100 of the Billboard charts, and they have gone on to reported sales of over six million records worldwide.
