Our Lady Peace have sold over 5 million albums and won a host of awards since they formed in 1992.
Though they were originally called As If, they released nothing until they changed their name to Our Lady Peace. When Naveed was released in 1994 it achieved moderate success, with a couple of tracks, including "Starseed" (which was used in the film Armageddon) featuring in the Top 40 in the US and Canada. The follow-up, Clumsy, is still considered to be the band’s seminal effort and spawned further hit singles. Apart from Gravity which sold well and reached No.9 on the Billboard chart, subsequent albums failed to match the heady heights of that album and the band began to suffer from accusations of over-production and chasing after the mainstream. Nonetheless the albums continue to sell well in their native Canada and do still feature in the US Billboard charts, albeit in the lower reaches.
