Paris Bennett is an R&B singer whose family background provided a good launch pad for her career. Her mother Jamecia Bennett and grandmother Ann Nesby were former members of the Sounds of Blackness and have their own solo careers, which initially Bennett was not inclined to follow. Originally destined for a career in medicine, success in the local auditions for the 5th series of American Idol convinced her otherwise and she made it all the way to the final ten. She signed to the same label as her mother, 306 Entertainment which is owned by her uncle, for her debut album Princess P. Despite the lack of success for the singles, "Ordinary Love" and "Duet (featuring J. Isaac)", the album made the No.1 slot on the US Top Heatseekers chart.
