Singer-songwriter Patty Griffin has kept the music industry on its toes. Her songwriting is consistently stellar and her songs have been covered by everyone from Jessica Simpson ("Let Him Fly") to Solomon Burke ("Up to the Mountain"). Her own recordings indicate a talent with a unique position in the music world: a musician equally accepted by mainstream and alt-country fans alike. Her latest album, Children Running Through (2007), was her highest-charting album yet (No.34), and has also been the most critically acclaimed record of her career so far.
