2003 Fanclub Single

First released:
2003

Overview Edit

For the first time since Pearl Jam started their Fanclub Single series in 1991, the 2003 Fanclub Single was a 10 in. vinyl record rather than a 7 in platter. This was undoubtedly done to accommodate the almost ten minute live version of Temple of the Dog's "Reach Down."

The cover the the single continues in the same vein as other PJ covers; seeming to thumb a nose at Christmas, but simultaneously honoring the holiday.

The cover depicts the back of a line-drawn man as he presumably waves to his significant other. "Come back! It's Christmas... I can change.... I'll show you" is written across the top of the frontsleeve slee. The backsleeve of the album is a simple red with a small cartoon character with his middle finger up.

Side-A is a live version of "Reach Down" recorded at the Santa Barbabra Bowl on October 28, 2003.

Side-B is live version of the Ramones "I Believe In Miracles" from the same 2003 Santa Barbara show. The song originally appeared on The Ramones' Brain Drain release.
