Poison the Well or PTW are a hardcore punk band from Miami, formed in 1997 by Aryeh Lehrer and Ryan Primack. They released their debut album, Distance Only Makes the Heart Grow Fonder in 1998 which led to a contract with punk label Trustkill Records. Their first release for Trustkill was the critically acclaimed The Opposite of December… A Season of Separation released in 1999. Guitar World magazine described it as one of the greatest hardcore albums of all time. The bands' most recent release, 2007's Versions, has also been well received and has sold more than 100,000 copies to date.
