Overview Edit

Hey! Ho! Let's Go: The Anthology is a two–disc compilation that attempts to summarize the Ramones' career in its entirety. It features two previously unissued song versions; "Rock 'n' Roll High School" and "I Want You Around" are the Ed Stasium mixes from the Rock 'n' Roll High School original motion picture soundtrack. Some versions of this album include a hardcover 80 page booklet with liner notes by David Fricke and Danny Fields. Every Ramones studio album is represented with the exception of Acid Eaters, their 1993 covers album.

The album was certified platinum in Argentina as of 2001-04-24, selling more than 40,000 copies. It was also certified silver in the UK (more than 60,000 copies sold) as of December 24 2004, and gold in Australia by 2006 selling more than 35,000 copies.

Stickers on the original boxset release advertised the collection humorously with the sum: "2 minutes + 3 chords x 58 tracks".

4 stars The end of 'pinhead' reviews...
Okay, a lot of the die-hard Ramones geeks have cast their ballot in favour of trashing this superb compilation, simply because it's not full of b-sides that were relegated to b-side status for a very good reason! This is a review on the album as a 'greatest hits' collection, not a mindless gripe on what songs should have been put on according to the pettiness of a few kids.

Having said all of that, the only reason this collection doesn't get 5 stars from me is because there are too many Ramones …

2 stars TWENTY YEARS AND THIS IS ALL THEY GET?
After the Beatles, the Ramones were the most influential rock group of the past 40 years, and they deserve a lot better than this hodgepodge. There's nothing on here that you shouldn't already have, and the hour or so of rarities and B-sides they recorded are nowhere to be found. Why are box sets always so awful? They don't satisfy the true fans and they're too expensive to appeal to anyone else. Start with ALL THAT STUFF VOLUMES 1 and 2, IT'S ALIVE, TOO TOUGH TO DIE and ANIMAL BOY, then get the…
